About the Gold Price Calculator
The price of gold jewellery is more than the day's gold rate. It depends on the purity (22K is 91.6% gold, 18K is 75%), the weight, the jeweller's making charges and 3% GST on the total. Knowing how these add up lets you compare quotes from different shops, check a bill, or plan a purchase for a wedding, Dhanteras or Akshaya Tritiya.
Enter today's 24K rate per 10 grams or per gram (from your jeweller or a news site; this tool does not fetch live prices), then the purity, the weight and the making charges, either as a percentage of the gold value or a fixed amount per gram. The calculator shows the rate for that purity, the gold value, the making charges, the GST and the final price.

Frequently asked questions
How is the 22K gold price calculated?
From the 24K rate by purity: 22K is 916 fineness, so its price per gram is about 24K rate × 916 ÷ 999. At ₹10,000 a gram for 24K, 22K is about ₹9,169.
How much GST is charged on gold jewellery?
3% on the gold value plus making charges. The September 2025 GST reform left the rate on gold unchanged.
What are normal making charges?
They vary by design and shop, often 8–25% of the gold value for jewellery, or a fixed amount per gram. Machine-made chains cost less to make than handcrafted pieces.
