About the PPF Calculator
The Public Provident Fund is a government-backed savings scheme with a 15-year term. Deposits of up to ₹1.5 lakh a year qualify for a deduction under Section 80C in the old tax regime, and both the interest and the maturity amount are tax-free, which makes PPF one of the safest long-term savings options for Indian families.
Enter how much you plan to deposit each year. The calculator uses the current rate of 7.1% (October–December 2026), credits interest once a year as the scheme does, and assumes each deposit is made before 5 April so it earns interest for the full year. Choose to keep the account for 15 years or extend it in blocks of 5 years to see how much more the extra years add.
